The most important part of enabling your skin to heal properly after you have had semi-permanent eyebrow treatment is keeping the area around your eyebrows clean and dry, which includes not using makeup.

Generally, you should wait two weeks before applying makeup to the treated area. Keeping the skin clean and free from cosmetics is important to prevent infection. Infections can lead to scarring and getting antibiotics from your GP. As well as makeup, you should avoid touching the eyebrow area with your fingers or with moisturiser that could irritate the skin. Slight scabbing or flaking of the skin is normal in the tattooed area, as your skin is healing itself. Be careful not to pick or rub at any scabs to avoid scarring also.

You can of course still wear makeup on other areas of the face, just be careful to avoid areas where you have had semi-permanent makeup treatment.

Follow the aftercare advice given by your aesthetic practitioner – you should be given this both verbally and written so you can take it home with you.

It may seen inconvenient having to avoid makeup on certain areas of your face after microblading / eyebrows tattooing, but you obviously want the best possible outcome for the longevity of your treatment, considering it isn’t a cheap procedure to have done.
